Meet ToqanClaw in Slack

Toqan is the AI workspace built for teams. ToqanClaw is our always-on AI agent — the part of Toqan that doesn’t just answer, but acts: it researches, drafts, edits, follows up, and finishes tasks end-to-end on your behalf.

The Toqan Slack integration brings ToqanClaw directly into the channels and DMs where your team already works. Mention it, message it, or hand it a thread — ToqanClaw reads the context, understands what you need, and gets it done.

What you can do with Toqan in Slack

  • Ask anything, in any channel. Mention @Toqan to start a conversation. ToqanClaw uses the surrounding thread as context, so you don’t have to repeat yourself.
  • Hand off entire threads. Forward a long discussion to ToqanClaw and ask for a summary, a recommended next step, a drafted reply, or a follow-up task.
  • Run multi-step work end-to-end. ToqanClaw can research a topic, pull together findings, draft documents, and follow up — all from a single Slack message.
  • Stay in the loop. Ask ToqanClaw to keep watching a thread, channel, or topic and ping you when something relevant happens.
  • Work in DMs. Have a private workspace with ToqanClaw in Slack DMs for drafting, brainstorming, and one-off questions.

How it works

Toqan for Slack is a standard Slack app built on top of our Toqan platform. Once an authorized admin installs the app into your workspace, members can:

  1. Invite @Toqan to any channel, or DM it directly.
  2. Talk to it in natural language — no slash commands or special syntax required.
  3. ToqanClaw responds inline, with the same reasoning, memory, and tool access it has elsewhere on the Toqan platform.

Data access & permissions

ToqanClaw is an always-on AI agent designed to take action on your behalf, which means the Toqan Slack integration requests broad read and write access to the workspaces it is installed in. Specifically, it needs:

  • Read access to channels, threads, DMs, and message history that the installing user (or invited bot user) is a member of — so ToqanClaw can understand context before acting.
  • Write access to send messages, post in threads, and respond in DMs on behalf of the agent user.
  • User and workspace metadata (names, profiles, channel lists) so ToqanClaw can correctly address people and route work.

Toqan only accesses Slack data when needed to respond to or carry out a user request, and we apply the same security and data-handling standards described in our Privacy Policy and Fair Use Policy. We do not sell Slack data, and we do not use customer Slack content to train foundation models.

Installing Toqan for Slack

The Toqan Slack app is currently rolling out to customers of the Toqan platform. To request access for your workspace, contact your Toqan account team or reach out at support@toqan.ai.

Installation requires a Slack workspace admin to approve the app and the requested scopes. Once installed, any member of the workspace can invite @Toqan to a channel or DM.
