How to do research for recruitment

Research can take up quite a bit of time for HR managers, especially if recruitment isn’t their specialisation. Many companies do have specialists, of course, and even specialists can use Toqan to do research on the latest environment they’re recruiting in.

In this example, we look at a very basic search. Yours may be far more detailed – you can provide the company you work for, the city or country you’re in, whether you offer remote or hybrid options so can search globally, etc. The more detail you give Toqan, the better. But let’s look at a stripped-down search.

The prompt: I work in human resources at a large ecommerce company in South Africa. I’m on the hunt for a senior .net developer. Give me the latest market view on developer availability, salaries, expectations and ideal work environments. Also find any latest statistics and other insights that may be relevant to me to factor into my recruitment strategy.

Toqan has given me a broad view, based on the request.

One of the three follow-up questions on Toqan was: What advice do you have for attracting top .NET talent? Selecting this option resulted in the following:

You can continue to select follow-up questions if it’s helpful to you – keep going until you feel you don’t have any questions left. Toqan won’t get tired, it won’t get bored, it won’t get frustrated so go on for as long as you like.
