How to transcribe video and audio files

Toqan can transform an audio or video file into text in a process known as transcription – it turns speech into text.

It can transcribe interviews, video meetings and voice notes in a fraction of the time it takes to do it manually.

Try it the next time you have a meeting: record the session then upload the file into Toqan and ask it to transcribe it for you.

You’ll never have to worry about taking notes again!

How to do it

Step 2
Give Toqan the instruction to transcribe the file. It should take a few seconds or a few minutes, depending on the length of the file.

Something to watch out for in Slack

If you’re using Toqan in Slack, make sure you’re clicking on the Toqan transcript and not the Slack transcript. Make sure you click on the View Thread link next to the Toqan logo to get the correct transcript. In the image below you’ll see a few words just under the file with “View transcript”. that is the Slack transcript. To access the Toqan transcript, click on “1 reply” next to the Toqan logo.
